Your responsibility

• In this function, you actively contribute to maintaining the health status of the Basel bidder animal population.
• They independently handle the implementation of the monitoring programmes and help with the handling of animal diseases as well as imports and exports of animals.
• They carry out controls and independently record control results, orders and criminal complaints and are responsible for the dossier management of the cases assigned to you.
• They communicate with farmers, animal owners, veterinarians, key stakeholders as well as other cantonal authorities and federal agencies.
• You contribute your experience in emergency planning in the field of animal diseases.
• In a small way, our team supports you with the slaughter animal and meat control in the Basel bidder slaughterhouses.

Your background

• Completed studies in veterinary medicine with a federal or recognised diploma
• Certificate of competence as official veterinarian or willingness to acquire it
• Veterinary enforcement experience and good knowledge of animal diseases, control and prevention
• Enjoying interdisciplinary cooperation and working with a high practical relevance
• Safe appearance and strong communication ability in dealing with animal owners, professionals and authorities
• Responsible, independent and solution-oriented working method
• Good oral and written knowledge of German
• Category B driving licence
