Full description
Tasks
- A sympathetic cross-functional product team with hands-on team lead, product manager and several T-shaped full-stack engineers who share responsibility.
- You work in variations of Scrum or Kanban. Engineers also roll up their sleeves in refinements and are actively involved in architectural and product issues.
- A lot of design freedom and the opportunity to actively shape high code quality in the team and across team boundaries.
- Enough legacy, complexity and grown structures to really make a difference with a good dose of resilience and to make systems step by step better.
Requirements
We match when you
- Many years of profound experience in modern, product-oriented software engineering (preferably Java) and have already worked on complex, distributed systems - ideally in e-commerce or in comparable domains.
- Modern engineering practices are not only theoretically familiar, but have lived in everyday life, for example in the areas of CI/CD, automated testing, decoupling, code reviews and observability.
- See concepts such as DDD, Clean Architecture, Event-Driven Architecture, SOLID, Feature Flags or Dependency Injection not as buzzwords, but as tools that you use meaningfully and pragmatically.
- You are a strong advocate of “You build it, you own it” and have experience in environments where it is released several times a day.
- Share your knowledge, enjoy pair programming, whiteboard sessions and code reviews, and help develop the engineering level in the team.
- Bring depth in your area of expertise and at the same time move safely across adjacent areas.
- We are happy to work closely with product managers: inside and want to understand which problem we are actually solving. You formulate requirements and think from a user and business point of view.
- Values real agility and likes to work in short iterations, learn quickly, get feedback and make data-informed decisions.
- Using AI tools in the workflow and educating yourself from intrinsic motivation, simply because you enjoy growing professionally and personally.
- biting you through complex problems and bringing the resilience to pull them through to success.
- You are a warm-hearted communicator who cares about an open learning culture, who likes to build personal connections in a team and laugh at good jokes.
We probably don’t fit together so well if you
- Prefer frameworks such as SAFe or projects that start with a specification.
- Mostly worked in highly regulated areas, with no experience in a fast-moving, product-oriented environment.
- Feel more comfortable in role models where infrastructure, backend, frontend, testing and product thinking are clearly separated.
- Completely formulated requirements, instead of sharpening them together with product management and really understanding customers.
- See further education above all as a responsibility of the employer and do not continue to learn for their own interest, whether this is “on the job”, outside at an evening event or simply reading a book.
- Are more frustrated by imperfect systems than motivated - Spoilers: We are not there yet
- Work and good mood strictly separated from each other
We offer
- Perks: Attractive perks in the Brack online shop as well as lunch perks and staff restaurants in Mägenwil and Willisau.
- Recreation: At least 5 weeks of vacation, in addition there is the possibility for holiday purchase and unpaid vacation.
- Development: Internal training in the own Academy as well as financial participation in external further education.
- Family: 18 weeks of paid maternity leave with extension and 4 weeks of paid paternity leave.
- Insurance: Super-compulsory – 100% continued pay and full financing of the sickness allowance insurance by the employer.
- Mobility: free parking, financial participation in public transport and pool vehicles for business appointments.
