Would you like to accompany people with chronic pain and use your expertise in interventional pain therapy or in an interdisciplinary treatment concept? At the Cantonal Hospital in Baden, you have your own outpatient pain consultation session and work closely with various specialist areas. In addition, you have the opportunity to participate in the Barmelweid Pain Day Clinic in Baden-Dättwil and to help shape its somatic treatment concept. The two activities may be combined or carried out independently. The position will be available on 1 December 2026 or by agreement.

Their tasks

• You conduct your own outpatient pain consultation session and accompany patients with chronic pain. You rely on patient education as well as medical and interventional procedures under ultrasound or screening.
• They participate in the reports of the Pain Nurses and, if necessary, take care of inpatient patients on a consiliar basis.
• You participate in internal and cross-clinical projects and contribute your technical expertise to the further development of pain therapy.
• They support the education and training of assistant doctors and assistant assistants in interventional pain therapy.

Your tasks in the pain day clinic Barmelweid

• They assess patients comprehensively, carry out pain diagnosis and adapt the treatment individually.
• They further develop the somatic treatment concept and adapt it to the needs of patients during the course of treatment.
• They carry out pain therapy group offers, especially for pain education, and supplement these with individual discussions if necessary.
• They conduct initial interviews, assess the entry status including relevant assessments and assess existing diseases and accompanying diseases. If necessary, you can initiate further family medical care.
• They accompany the patients during the stay with weekly consultations and, if necessary, optimize pain medicine pharmacotherapy.
• Together with the patients, you define treatment goals, review them in the course and contribute your assessments to the cooperation with the interprofessional team.
• They ensure that the treatment concept can be continued on an outpatient basis after the day-to-day clinical stay.
• They participate in regular team meetings as well as in inter- and supervision sessions.

Your profile

• They have completed specialist training in anesthesiology with FMH title or equivalent foreign recognition and hold the SSIPM certificate of ability in interventional pain management.
• They think interdisciplinary and are interested in comprehensive care for patients with chronic pain.
• They are familiar with the Swiss healthcare system.
• They work goal- and team-oriented and bring high professional and social competence.

Your profile in the pain day clinic Barmelweid

• You have a specialist title in anesthesiology or internal medicine with FMH title or equivalent foreign recognition.
• You have the SSIPM in Interventional Pain Medicine. For an exclusive activity at the Pain Day Clinic, the title SPS Pain Specialist is sufficient.
• They are very interested in interdisciplinary and interprofessional cooperation and would like to actively shape the cooperation between the day clinic and the participating specialist areas.
• Ideally, they bring additional training or further education, for example in psychosomatics, manual medicine or dry needling.
