Main responsibilities

  • Your role and responsibilities
  • In this role, you will lead processes that safeguard the efficiency, reliability, and performance of automated production equipment, production lines, and facilities across a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • This includes our new, state-of-the-art automated battery pack plant, complementing our established battery module and pack lines as well as converter lines.
  • You will ensure that maintenance strategies, technical documentation, and improvement initiatives drive high availability, operational excellence, and the best possible use of technical and financial resources.
  • The role also calls for close collaboration with production engineering to strengthen team redundancy while continuously advancing highly automated manufacturing processes. The work model for the role is: onsite
  • This role is contributing to the Traction Operations in Untersiggenthal and Baden.
  • Main stakeholders are ABB Energy Storage Systems and Converter Production. You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Partial or full leadership of the Traction Operations maintenance group, coordinating maintenance activities and supporting group performance and development.
  • Defining and implementing maintenance strategies and plans for automated production lines, improving reliability, maintainability, and safety of equipment and facilities.
  • Introducing, developing, and maintaining CMMS tools while ensuring accurate and up-to-date technical documentation of production equipment and systems.

Key requirements

  • Strong experience in industrial maintenance of automated production equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and automation systems
  • Solid knowledge of automation technologies such as PLC programming, robotics, sensors, industrial communication networks, and automated production systems
  • Experience with maintenance concepts, troubleshooting, CMMS systems, machine diagnostics, and reliability improvement methodologies (e.g., OEE optimization, lean manufacturing)
  • Understanding of production engineering principles, or willingness and motivation to learn and contribute to production engineering topics to ensure team redundancy and cross-functional support
  • Proven qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, Mechatronics, or a comparable technical field, or equivalent hands-on industrial experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement sustainable technical improvements You are at ease communicating in German More about us
