The race in the territory
On Sunday 4 October the Pied d'Oro running circuit reached Rodero for the third to last event of the season. Over 300 took part in the Trofeo Rodero, organized by Polisportiva Sporterapia over the traditional distances of 10 and 5 kilometres.
The result was described as a seat for three: Andrea Torri won the overall classification, while Alberto Rossi and Ilaria Bianchi conquered the ranking of those registered in the running circuit. The sun accompanied the race, which began and ended on the municipal sports field.
Rodero is the only circuit that crosses the border into the province of Como, despite being on the border with that of Varese. The route began with a leg warmer section and several ups and downs, before taking participants towards the climb to Colle di San Maffeo.
The climb reaches 505 meters of the hill and measures approximately one kilometre. After the ascent, the route offered a long descent and an ascent into the Lanza Valley, with approximately 250 meters of overall difference in altitude.
Torri finished the race under 40 minutes, followed by Dennys Furfaro. The race then opened the results table with the overall winner and the runner-up, before the placings that defined the Golden Foot rankings.
The start and finish remained concentrated in the same municipal facility, while the route alternated the initial phase of ups and downs, the climb to Colle di San Maffeo and the passage through the Lanza Valley. The two distances indicated by the Polisportiva Sporterapia were the traditional ones of the Rodero Trophy: 10 and 5 kilometres.

Arrival orders
In the men's, Alberto Rossi della Arsaghese took third place overall and first place in the Pied d 'Or. After the success of Andrea Torri and the second place of Dennys Furfaro, Rossi preceded teammate Simone Carlo Prina. Riccardo Laudi of Aermacchi finished in the top 5.
Behind them, in order, were Fernando Coltro della Valbossa, Patrizio Oliverio, Luca Bellisano and Luca Annigoni, the latter from Runner Varese. The ranking therefore included athletes from different companies, with Arsaghese, Aermacchi, Valbossa and Runner Varese among the names listed in the order of finish.
Among the women, the umpteenth seasonal success of Ilaria Bianchi, colour bearer of La Recastello Radici Group, has arrived. Bianchi crossed the finish line in 46.56, almost 2 minutes before Elena Begnis of Atletica Arcisate.
Paola Turriziani and Sabrina Gussoni took third and fourth place for Runner Varese, in order. Sabrina Gussoni preceded Lucia Giovanna Folino of Sporterapia by a breath; then Chiara Raffaele, Antonella Flute and Dalila Vanzella arrived.
The athletes expressed an excellent opinion of the race, appreciating the route despite the commitment required, the organisation of the event and the safety ensured throughout the track. The Rodero Trophy thus received positive evaluations on the three aspects indicated after arrival: the design of the event, the management of the event and safety along the route.
Key points
The final calendar
With the Rodero race behind us, the Piede d'Oro calendar still lists two races before the season ends. The next appointment is set for Sunday 11 in Venegono Superiore: here the Witch Run is scheduled.
The event will be organized within the Ecorun Varese. The Witch Run is a new entry in the running circuit calendar, an element explicitly stated in the race presentation. The starting meeting is scheduled at Parco Pratone.
The calendar entry therefore brings together three elements: the venue of Venegono Superiore, the name Witch Run, and the Ecorun Varese scope. The meeting point, instead, is located at Parco Pratone, indicated as the starting point of the appointment on Sunday 11.
For the circuit, the next stage thus has a date, a municipality, a name, and a meeting place indicated by the source. The news links the race to Ecorun Varese and presents it as a new entry in the Piede d'Oro calendar.
The remainder of the season continues to be marked by this appointment and another race, because after the third‑to‑last appointment in Rodero the circuit must still complete two races. The Witch Run therefore represents the next step communicated for the calendar, with Venegono Superiore as the venue and Parco Pratone as the starting meeting point.
For the Witch Run, the calendar indicates not only the municipality but also the meeting place. The combination of Venegono Superiore, Parco Pratone, and Ecorun Varese defines the references provided for the next appointment of the circuit.
