- Establish appropriate pricing, terms, conditions, limits, and retentions to ensure each risk is structured for long-term profitability
- Manage a portfolio of new and renewal business, balancing growth objectives with disciplined underwriting standards
- Maintain compliance with underwriting guidelines and procedures, documenting decisions and rationale to company standards
- Develop and nurture strong broker and agency relationships, delivering responsive service and timely underwriting decisions that set us apart in the market
- Participate in broker meetings, stewardship discussions, and marketing activities to strengthen partnerships and identify new business opportunities
- Contribute to business planning and portfolio management initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve retention and enhance underwriting effectiveness
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Claims, Products, Actuarial, and Legal teams to support portfolio objectives and address emerging risks
- Engage in underwriting discussions on industry trends, coverage issues, and evolving risk landscapes to keep our approach sharp and forward-thinking
