As a Mechanical Engineer, you will join the Mechanics, Development and Design (MDD) section, where you will contribute to the design and development of advanced electromechanical systems for accelerator beam transfer across the entire CERN accelerator complex.

- Your responsibilities:
- Contribute to the conceptual design and development of mechanical and electromechanical systems.
- Initial experience designing mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software (CATIA V5 is an advantage).
- Exposure to ISO GPS standards and BOM preparation.
Responsabilités principales
- Your responsibilities:
- Contribute to the conceptual design and development of mechanical and electromechanical systems.
- Produce engineering documentation, including 3D models, manufacturing drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Support the manufacturing, assembly, testing and installation of equipment.
- Collaborate with physicists, engineers and technicians to translate conceptual requirements into practical engineering solutions.
- Participate in the development of innovative technologies for high-voltage pulsed power and accelerator systems.
Exigences principales
- Initial experience designing mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software (CATIA V5 is an advantage).
- Exposure to ISO GPS standards and BOM preparation.
- Hands-on experience in structural simulations using finite element analysis.
- Theoretical knowledge in mechanical behaviour of materials and production methods.
- Experience with additive manufacturing and 3D scanning would be an asset. Skills:
- Knowledge of structural analysis using finite element methods.
- Ability to work in an international multi-disciplinary team with physicists, engineers and technicians.
- Skills to prepare comprehensive technical documentation.
- Experience with FEA software is an advantage
- Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French. Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State .

- By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree .
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
- Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
