How this index works

Prices come from TCS Benzinpreis (Touring Club Suisse), which collects user-reported prices for Swiss stations. Our pipeline maps each station to its Ticino border zone, deduplicates same-brand same-address entries, and publishes one dedicated page per station with the available observations. The index below groups stations by zone so you can compare options near your usual border crossing at a glance. A station without an available price for this fuel is not listed. Collection time indicates when the data was read, not when the operator changed its price. Rebuilding this page does not refresh the sample: always check the price at the pump.

Why this index helps cross-border commuters

For workers crossing the Italy-Switzerland border, fuel costs should be compared on their actual route. Hypothetical example: 220 days at 60 km per day and 6 litres per 100 km mean 792 litres per year. A CHF 0.10/litre difference over that volume amounts to CHF 79.20 before detour costs. These are assumptions, not measured commuter averages or promised savings. Use your own distance and consumption, compare the same fuel in one currency with a dated exchange rate, and subtract fuel, tolls and time added by the detour. The map helps locate stations along your route; address, service mode and collection date remain part of the comparison.
