Entry into the logopaedic professional life can be challenging - numerous diagnoses, clarifications and diverse therapeutic approaches are waiting to be learned and applied. In order to make it easier to get started and ensure that you always feel well advised, the City of Zurich offers the model of working studies for speech pedia students in the final year.
Tasks
- They work as a supplement to the school house logo and take responsibility for therapeutic tasks on a small scale.
- They take over the logopaedic therapy of students who have already been clarified and whose diagnosis is known.
- They prepare therapeutic interventions before and after.
- They document the therapeutic work.
- They communicate case-specifically with the parents/guardians and the teachers about the assigned therapy children.
Profile
- You are in the last year of study for the Dipl. Speech pedagogue (EDK), have completed the topic of children’s language and passed all completed internships. The final internship is not a requirement and can also be completed at the same time.
- They bring joy and skill in dealing with children and are open to contact with people from different cultures.
- They work independently, independently and impact-oriented.
- Your strengths include team and communication skills.
- They value structured fields of work and have organizational and administrative skills.

In addition, you have a large network of experts at your side, so that you can count on competent support at any time. They are given enough time to arrive in professional life and gain initial professional experience.
About us
As part of the Special Pedagogy Service Department, the Department of Speech Pedagogy offers preventive and therapeutic measures with around 150 speakers for students with language, speech and communication problems. These offers are available to children and young people of all grades. The city of Zurich’s speech teachers work either at a regular school with pupils with and without special school status (ISR) or at locations of the curative school with pupils in separate school settings.
