Put to the Point
The research group "Extension Agriculture" is working on projects for the development of ecological measures in pest and disease regulation and is examining varieties and cultivation systems of different agricultural crops with regard to their cultivation and use suitability under Swiss conditions. In the SNSF project «PhenoMix» (https://kp.ethz.ch/research/projects/PhenoMix.html), pure seeds of lentils and cereals are compared with corresponding mixed cultures in field trials. Plant development is recorded throughout the season using optical 3D methods. Subsequently, models for determining optimal combinations of varieties are developed and the agronomic and economic value of the mixed crops is analysed. The traineeship provides extensive knowledge in field testing and post-harvest laboratory analyses. With your commitment and the acquired knowledge, you contribute to the successful implementation of the project.
