Job start March 2027, temporary
With the Zurich Learning Course Survey – LEAPS (LEArning Progress Study), the Education Directorate of the Canton of Zurich wants to examine the learning and educational courses of pupils during compulsory school hours. The focus is on the development of technical and interdisciplinary competences. In particular, LEAPS aims to show how learning and educational trajectories depend on individual and social characteristics. LEAPS is carried out by a consortium of several universities led by the University of Zurich.
Tasks
To carry out the surveys, we are looking for test managers:inside. You will conduct competence surveys with children aged 6 to 9 years in both individual and group setting. The surveys take place in schools throughout the Canton of Zurich. The material necessary for a survey must be picked up before a survey date at the Institute of Educational Science (Kantonsschulstrasse 3, 8001 Zurich) and then returned. The first survey period shall take place from May 2027 to July 2027, the second from October 2027 to January 2028. Working as a test manager: in requires training (combination of online and face-to-face training) and self-study in order to get to know and practice the test instruments. The first training will take place in April 2027.
Profile
The job advertisement is primarily aimed at students. Working as a test manager: in requires interest in working with children of the target age, already gained experience is beneficial. The implementation of the survey days requires technical prowess (handling tablets, cameras), very good memory and concentration, flexibility and empathy in dealing with teachers and children, the willingness to travel to less accessible schools and to carry extensive survey material. The elevation language is basically High German. Very good passive knowledge in Swiss German is also required for the activity. In addition, a scientific background (study) and a basic understanding of standardized surveys are required. The scope of use as test manager:in is individually compatible. However, it should be possible to carry out surveys at least one morning a week.
