Canton of Zurich Education Directorate Secondary and Vocational Education Office Cantonal School Uetikon am See Technical Specialist Makerspace and Physics 70 - 90% The Cantonal School Uetikon am See (KUE) is a young school in the development phase. She leads a high school secondary level and five of the Zurich maturity profiles (old-language, mathematical-scientific, modern-language, economic-legal and philosophical-pedagogical-psychological). Around 800 pupils and 120 teachers and administrative staff belong to KUE today. We are a young, agile team and like to try new things. In about six years, KUE will move into its new building on the site of the former Chemical Factory directly on Lake Zurich. Immediately or by agreement, we are looking for a tech-savvy and versatile person to supervise our makerspace and support the Physics Department.

• Their tasks The position combines three versatile fields of work: You support the Physics Department in technical and administrative matters, supervise and develop our existing makerspace and participate in the conception and equipment of the future makerspace in the new building on the lake. To your
• Tasks include:
• prepare, build and further develop physical tests as well as maintain devices and machines in makerspace and workshop
• advise and practically support teachers and students in experiments, prototypes and their own technical projects
• jointly develop makerspace and workshop, test new technologies and contribute their own ideas
• develop and document device instructions, safety specifications and practical workflows
• procure, manage and inventory devices, tools and consumables
• Your profile For us, a certain training degree is less decisive than the combination of sound technical understanding, practical experience, willingness to learn and joy in tinkering.You bring:
• a technical or craftsman's basic training, for example as a physics laboratory:in, polymechanic:in, automatic technician:in or electronics technician:in or a comparable training
• ideally a further technical training, for example at a higher technical school or university of applied sciences
• several years of professional experience
• an independent, reliable and solution-oriented working method
• a pronounced affinity to technology, electronics and digital production
• Pedagogical skill and joy in communicating knowledge in practice and to accompany and support young people in their own projects Our offer You can expect a varied and self-responsible activity at a young middle school. You will have the opportunity to actively shape a makerspace in the school environment and to accompany its further development at the new location right from the start. The office combines technology, education, project work and conception and offers plenty of space for your own ideas and initiatives. They work closely with the Department of Physics and other teachers and at the same time are in direct contact with students. Part-time work allows for an increased presence during the semester.
