Main responsibilities
- Securing the day-to-day business of the Mass Spectrometry department: method developments, routine analyses and evaluations, supervision of the Open Access area and user training/support
- Supporting the research activities of the Department of Mass Spectrometry: examination of complex samples, technical project consultancy and support in the interpretation of data
- Support and maintenance of equipment and infrastructure: maintenance work, repairs, mass calibrations, support of spare parts warehouse and communication with manufacturers and service technicians: inside
- Maintenance of databases for service operation and maintenance of the open access server "Chromeleon
- Support of the website of the new technology platform (www.cumolas.ch) Requirements
- Teaching as a laboratory technician: in EFZ field of chemistry as well as a completed further education as a natural science:r laboratory technician: in HFP (or equivalent) or a completed degree (FH) in the field of (analytical) chemistry (or equivalent)
- at least 5 years of professional experience in LC/GC-MS and sample preparation
- Good knowledge of chromatography, high-resolution mass spectrometry, quantification and data processing
- Good knowledge of molecular properties and reactivities
- very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing
