- The Department of Safety, Health and Environment (SGU) advises, supports and trains all organizational units and members of ETH Zurich on questions relating to safety and health at work.
- It is the point of contact for all centrally organized measures in dealing with hazards and risks for the protection of people, animals, property, infrastructure and the environment as well as for questions regarding the fulfilment of the corresponding legal requirements.
- In the event of an incident, it shall maintain an appropriate emergency organisation.
- Both in everyday life and in the event of an incident, it works closely with the authorities and external forces.
- SGU ensures the systematic inclusion of ASA specialists in accordance with EKAS guideline 6508 for the ETH.
