Canton of Zurich Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs Prisons and Reintegration Prisons Canton of Zurich Social Worker 80% Prison and Reintegration (JuWe), as part of the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs of the Canton of Zurich, is responsible for the execution of penalties and measures as well as the execution of various types of detention.
For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of people who have committed crimes, the prevention of recidivism and the detention and preparation of the departure of persons without a valid residence permit are of particular importance.
The Bachtel Prison Center (VZB) is one of the prison institutions of the Canton of Zurich (VEZ) – one of seven main departments of the JuWe – and is an institution specialized in the open execution of prison sentences and substitute prison sentences.
