Full description
For the last mile, we are strengthening our product development team. If something goes wrong there, customers notice it immediately.

Mansioni
- You build the last mile services and you run them too. From carrier connection to shipment tracking to shipment loss detection, what your team builds is also responsible for operations
- Grown structures you modernize in the ongoing shipping. In small steps, secured by tests and measured values without the shipping chain standing still
- Connecting external systems is part of your everyday life. Shipping service providers and authorities rarely provide clean interfaces, so you build them fault-tolerant, idempotent and observable
- You shape the engineering culture in the team. We continuously develop reviews, API guidelines, monitoring and documentation, you bring your experience and set standards instead of just adopting specifications
- Together with product owner, team and architecture you cut the work. You make technical considerations and their consequences transparent, also towards logistics, operations and external partners
Requirements
- Several years of professional experience: As a software engineer – part of which is responsible for solutions that run productively and under load
- Completed studies (Uni/ETH, FH, HF): In computer science (ETH/Uni/FH) or equivalent practical work experience
- In-depth knowledge of C# and .NET, SQL and experience with distributed, high-throughput event-based systems
- Experience with the connection of external partner systems and their interfaces, ideally in the shipping or logistics environment
- Secure handling of grown code and the sense to modernize it incrementally without disturbing the current shipping
- The operation is considered by you from the beginning, from monitoring and alerting to behavior in peak times
- AI as an integral part of analysis, conception, implementation and testing – no buzzword
- Clear, situational communication, also towards logistics, operations and external partner companies
- Taking calculated risks to create value and drive growth
- The willingness to question “as it has always been done” and propose more efficient, automated or effective solutions
- in German (negotiation confident)
- English (flowing)

Questions about this listing
What salary does Galaxus offer for this role?
The original listing does not state a salary. Our estimate for this role and sector in Zürich is CHF 121'500 - 206'500 gross per year — an estimate, not a figure communicated by Galaxus. The calculator on this site converts a gross salary into your actual net take-home once cross-border tax and social contributions are applied.
Is this a full-time role, and what type of contract does Galaxus offer?
This listing is a full-time position. The contract type shown here comes directly from the employer's original posting; always confirm exact hours, notice period and probation length with Galaxus during the application process, since these details can vary by role even within the same contract category.
Do I need a cross-border work permit for a role in Zürich?
EU/EFTA residents living in the border zone of the country adjoining Canton Zürich can apply for a G permit; the Swiss employer files it with that canton's migration office after the contract is signed. Border-zone rules and processing times vary by neighbouring country and canton, so confirm the specifics with Zürich's cantonal migration office or with HR during the application.
