The Institute of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine (IFA) of the University Hospital Zurich (USZ) provides more than 30,000 services annually in outpatient and inpatient anesthesiology, intraclinical and extraclinical emergency medicine as well as in acute and chronic pain medicine.
In the context of highly specialized medicine, the USZ has service contracts for all transplantations as well as for the treatment of severely burnt and multiple injured patients.
A large part of our medical staff is in further training as a specialist / specialist anesthesiology.

Main responsibilities
- Self-responsible anesthesiological care of patients of all age groups and disciplines throughout the university care spectrum
- Anesthesiological care of complex patients as well as demanding interventions in highly specialized medicine (HSM)
- Independent implementation and professional participation in child anesthesia in the university environment
- Participation in shift and background services
- Assumption of management, organisational and coordination tasks
- Active participation and further development of medical training, health care, quality assurance, research and teaching
- Guidance, supervision, training and mentoring of assistant and cadre doctors Requirements Professional qualification
- Specialist title Anesthesiology (FMH or equivalent), dissertation
- Several years of senior medical clinical experience at a university hospital or a hospital of maximum care
- Broad clinical expertise and proven ability to cover the entire university spectrum of anesthesiological care independently and at a high professional level
