For our versatile and self-organized "Mainframe Platform Services" team, we are looking for a system engineer with extensive experience in supporting application developers and working with system programmers.
As a Senior Mainframe System Engineer, you are responsible for the stable, safe and efficient operation of our mainframe landscape. You work closely with development, operations and specialist areas and support the further development of mission-critical applications and platforms.
You are part of the team that ensures the interface between the global AXA mainframe organization and the local development and business teams. In order to ensure optimal conditions for smooth development activities and operational robustness, you create and integrate tools and infrastructure components for the mainframe platform of AXA Switzerland and offer your colleagues active support in all mainframe topics.
In the field of data, technology and innovation, around 600 software and system developers work in Switzerland: in-house and develop the technology of tomorrow. We also collaborate in global teams and networks. We shape and integrate the latest tools, organize hackathons and our agile product teams run self-organized and are self-responsible from A to Z.

- Operation, maintenance and optimization of mainframe systems and related applications
- Support and further development of development and deployment platforms
- Analysis, conception and implementation of technical solutions in the mainframe environment
- Development, adaptation and maintenance of applications in PL/1
- Creation and maintenance of automation and administration scripts with REXX
- Support of in-house developments, as well as runtime (LE), generators and compilers (PL/1, Cobol)
- Support for deployments and operation of existing technologies and processes
- Analysis and correction of disruptions and performance optimizations
- Cooperation in projects as well as technical advice to internal stakeholders
- Ensuring stable operation of the mainframe landscape
You bring that with you
- Several years of professional experience as a system engineer, application developer or specialist in the mainframe environment
- Sound knowledge in PL/1
- Very good knowledge in REXX
- Experience with development and deployment platforms in the mainframe environment
- CA Gen know-how is an advantage
- Experience in the operation and further development of business-critical systems
- Knowledge of deployment, release and change management processes
- Good knowledge of German as well as English in word and writing
