As IT Life of Zurich Insurance Switzerland, we provide all insurance-specific IT services for the Swiss Life division. As part of the DILI program, we provide the future IT service for handling our individual life business. To strengthen our dedicated team, we are looking for you as a Senior Data Solution Engineer.

As a Senior Data Solutions Engineer, you play a key role in Information Technology and contribute to advancing the data strategy of Zurich Schweiz Leben in cooperation with the individual life department. You develop and maintain both curated data products – i.e. clearly defined, easy-to-use data sets from the individual life business unit – and complex data products used by other business units. In doing so, you use and improve our modern Data & Insight Generation Platform (DIG) and work in partnership with the various departments to create a better understanding of our customers and their needs.

What you do

• You integrate data and work closely with IT & Business experts as well as product owners from various business areas (including individual life, finance, customer office, agent, broker & partnerships, underwriting, Group Technology & Operations)

• You design, develop and implement scalable, reliable and flexible solutions with Microsoft Azure / Fabric components to further develop our data platform

• Develop and operate reliable data pipelines used for analytics applications

• You conduct data quality checks and promote continuous improvement throughout the life cycle of our data products

• You ensure that our data governance guidelines are adhered to and are actively involved in the further development of our data product standard.

What you bring

• University degree in computer science, business informatics or a related field and at least 5 years of relevant professional experience

• In-depth knowledge of modern data technologies with a focus on Microsoft Azure & Data Modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake, Data Vault)

• Several years of professional experience working with data processing programming languages, especially in Python, PySpark and SQL

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex problems

• Excellent communication skills in German and English
