Shape your future – together with us!

Risk engineering in property insurance means analyzing and evaluating risks using engineering technology and controlling them with targeted measures in order to prevent or limit major losses. In this way, you create transparency about our customers' risk profile, support risk-appropriate underwriting and strengthen the resilience of companies. AXA and its customers benefit from well-founded decision-making principles, effective loss prevention and partnership-based cooperation on a win-win basis.

If you enjoy advising and dealing with customers, have good communication and analytical skills, and regular travel within Switzerland doesn't put you off, then read on - our team of experts looks forward to hearing from you!

This is what awaits you

Operational business

  • You analyze companies regarding fire, explosion, natural hazards and business interruption.
  • You assess structural fire protection, property protection, extinguishing systems and the organization of fire prevention.
  • You create risk reports with clear prevention measures for all stakeholders (underwriting, brokers, co-insurers, customers).
  • You will accompany the implementation of these measures and support customers in improving their risk quality.
  • You evaluate risk reports from other companies and calculate the maximum subscription share of AXA in collaboration with underwriting.

Training

  • You pass on your knowledge to underwriters and risk consultants in training courses and presentations.
  • You maintain professional exchanges with risk engineers from other insurers and bring in best practices.

Further development of risk engineering

  • You will help to continually update our guidelines and optimize the tools used.
  • You analyze how other hazards besides fire can be integrated into risk engineering practice.

  • You have completed further training in the areas of fire protection, explosion protection or business interruption (BCM).
  • You have several years of experience in risk engineering at an insurer or broker or have worked in security consulting at an engineering company.
  • You have already worked in industry and are familiar with production processes.
  • Ideally, you have insurance and business expertise.
  • You advise customers and internal stakeholders confidently, communicate clearly and appear convincing.
  • You are willing to travel regularly within Switzerland and enjoy visiting customer companies on site.

Questions about this listing

What salary does AXA Svizzera offer for this role?

The original listing does not state a salary. Our estimate for this role and sector in Winterthur is CHF 79'000 - 134'500 gross per year — an estimate, not a figure communicated by AXA Svizzera. The calculator on this site converts a gross salary into your actual net take-home once cross-border tax and social contributions are applied.

Is this a full-time role, and what type of contract does AXA Svizzera offer?

This listing is a full-time position. The contract type shown here comes directly from the employer's original posting; always confirm exact hours, notice period and probation length with AXA Svizzera during the application process, since these details can vary by role even within the same contract category.

Do I need a cross-border work permit for a role in Zürich?

EU/EFTA residents living in the border zone of the country adjoining Canton Zürich can apply for a G permit; the Swiss employer files it with that canton's migration office after the contract is signed. Border-zone rules and processing times vary by neighbouring country and canton, so confirm the specifics with Zürich's cantonal migration office or with HR during the application.
