The Raumbörse Zürich mediates and develops intermediate uses as well as favorable spaces for culture, socio-culture, district uses and charitable activities in the city of Zurich. It creates freedom for social commitment, supports the sustainable use of properties and contributes to the development of lively quarters. She works at the interface between urban development, socio-culture, politics, administration and the real estate industry.

For the management of our motivated nine-member team we are looking for in the course of a retirement at 1. April 2026 or by agreement a creative and inclusive leader. The workplace is located at Wasserwerkstrasse 17 in Zurich.

Tasks

• You lead and develop the Raumbörse Zürich strategically, in terms of personnel and business management. They lead nine employees in the areas of project management and facility management.
• They identify trends and societal challenges, maintain good contacts with a wide range of stakeholders and further develop the space exchange. Together with your employees, you provide a wide range of services and organize temporary uses with a noticeable impact on the city. She and her team work agile and opportunity-led.
• They are seated in municipal committees on temporary uses and favorable space, maintain the supraregional exchange on temporary uses or favorable space with other municipalities and represent the space exchange at symposia, conferences and universities.
• As a member of the business committee of the Social Urban Life business unit, you are jointly responsible for the strategic management of the business unit.

Profile

• A university degree in a relevant field or a comparable education as well as a qualified further education in leadership.
• Several years of management and professional experience in a relevant area, such as socio-culture, urban development, intermediate uses, land management or public administration.
• Business knowledge as well as experience in project management, negotiations and cooperation with different stakeholders. Knowledge of contract, construction and rental law as well as an understanding of political processes are beneficial.
• Strategic and conceptual thinking, innovative strength and a cooperative leadership attitude. They are safe in the field of tension between politics, administration and different social interests and recognize new developments and opportunities for action.

We do our work interdisciplinary and throughout the city: in school buildings, counselling centres, the five social centres as well as in facilities such as the Youth and Culture House Dynamo, the Debate House Karl der Grosse and the district centres Schütze and Bakeranlage.
