In the Real Estate Management department of ETH Zurich, we are responsible for the university’s real estate portfolio. For the annual investments of approximately CHF 180 million, we are guided by the highest standards of real estate management and provide ETH Zurich with forward-looking space and modern working environments in good time for teaching, research and knowledge and technology transfer.

Job description

In this position, you will assume responsibility for the project management of small or medium-sized conversions/renovations as well as major projects in the area of user development and infrastructure for research and teaching with high technical requirements, from project planning to realization, through the SIA phases 21 – 53.

They work in close coordination with team management, portfolio and asset management, finance & controlling, procurement, users and internal specialist positions as well as with our internal partners such as engineering & systems, facility services and security, health and environment.

In addition, you control project teams consisting of internal and external experts, coordinate the various stakeholders such as authorities and users and ensure compliance with costs, deadlines and quality standards.

You usually implement your projects with individual performance models or general planners, but also bring alternative approaches after design build in the dialogue process with an overall performer profitably.

To support your projects, you work partly with external client representatives. The overall responsibility for the projects always remains with you. They understand how to delegate tasks and competencies in a targeted manner and to empower external partners.

We are looking for a committed personality who enjoys accompanying complex construction projects in an innovative environment.

Profile

• Technical education: You have a university degree in architecture, civil engineering or a similar subject and have proven expertise in project management and/or construction management.
• Project experience: Thanks to your many years of experience as a project manager, you are familiar with the coordination of specialist teams in all SIA phases. Interdisciplinary tasks give you pleasure.
• Model diversity: You are familiar with conventional processing models (e.g. general planner or individual service provider models), are open to new integral approaches and ideally have initial experience in supporting construction projects with BIM.
• Responsibility and negotiation skills: They are resilient, are characterized by a quick understanding, like to take on socio-cultural and ecological responsibility and think entrepreneurially.
• Strong communication: You quickly build constructive relationships, build trust and shape your cooperation effectively and purposefully.
