At the Medical Faculty of the University of Zurich, the Chair of Neurology is to be filled as of 1 February 2028. The chair is located at the Department of Neurology at the University Hospital Zurich and represents the subject in research, care and teaching. He is associated with the management of the clinic. We are looking for a dynamic, integrative personality with extensive clinical expertise, scientific excellence and corresponding international visibility. A habilitation or equivalent scientific qualification as well as a specialist title in neurology are required. They have a convincing concept for future neurological research and teaching. Possible research areas of the professorship include, for example, cerebrovascular diseases, neurooncology, movement disorders, degenerative diseases and neuroimmunology. Since you will take over the management of the Clinic of Neurology, you bring management experience at least at the level of senior physician or senior senior physician at a university clinic. In addition, you have extensive experience in the management of a larger research group, the acquisition of competitive third-party funding as well as in student teaching, the supervision of qualification work and the academic promotion of young talent. The successful candidate is expected to strengthen existing and new collaborations within the hospital and with other research institutions. In particular, a networking and further development of the existing Clinical Neurocenter with the clinics for neurosurgery and neuroradiology is expected. The Center for Neurosciences (ZNZ) offers excellent opportunities for networking with basic neuroscience groups at the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich. Knowledge of German at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages should be available or must be acquired within a useful period of time.
