Role overview

Responsibilities

  • You will take on defined tasks in the outpatient care of radio-oncology patients – under delegation and medical supervision.
  • You will conduct structured assessments and follow-up checks (e.g., during ongoing radiotherapy), identify side effects early, and support symptom and side effect management according to standards.
  • You will coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic measures (e.g., labs, imaging, consultations, supportive services) and ensure smooth process and interface coordination.
  • You will handle documentation and coordination tasks on behalf of and in consultation with the treating physicians.
  • You will work closely with nursing staff, RFPs, medical physics/dosimetry, and other interprofessional services.
  • You will actively contribute to the development of the Physician Associate role profile in outpatient radio-oncology and participate in the creation of treatment pathways and standards.

Profile

  • You have training as a Certified Nurse HF/FH (or equivalent clinical basic training) and several years of professional experience – ideally in a somatic acute hospital and/or oncology setting.
  • Ideally, you hold a BSc in Nursing and/or further training as a Physician Associate CAS 1. Alternatively, you have relevant further training (e.g., oncology, anesthesia/intensive care) and are eager to develop specifically towards the Physician Associate role.
  • You have a strong medical understanding, work in a structured manner, and enjoy taking responsibility.
  • You communicate clearly and empathetically, coordinate reliably, and enjoy working in a team.
  • You are enthusiastic about shaping new paths and further developing the Physician Associate role in radio-oncology.

We Offer

  • Flexible, sliding working hours, home office options, generous maternity leave, and employment levels adapted to various life situations – all possible at KSW, provided operational needs allow.
  • Each year, KSW offers 40 interdisciplinary and 50 specialized training courses. We also support external training courses in terms of time and/or finances.
  • In extraordinary situations, such as prolonged illness, significant personal stress, or challenging experiences in private or professional life, various counseling services are available.
  • Appreciative and friendly collaboration within teams and across departments characterizes the working environment at KSW. As a sign of strong team spirit, "you" has been introduced as the standard form of address at KSW. Additionally, KSW financially supports annual team events and organizes a large staff celebration for the entire hospital every four years.
  • KSW employees benefit from excellent social benefits. The pension solution with BVK is well above the legal minimum. Employees are also well protected in case of illness or accident.
  • With discounts on fitness memberships, internal training opportunities and course offerings, discounts at pharmacies, and with leading health insurers, you can benefit from a comprehensive range of health-related offers.
  • Our daycare center La Luna, with generous opening hours, is located directly next to KSW. Additionally, you can take advantage of income-dependent financial support from KSW for daycare costs.
  • In collaboration with cultural partners in and around Winterthur, we regularly offer discounts for concerts and theater performances. Borrowing media from the in-house library is also free for employees.
