Canton of Zurich Prison and Reintegration Nursing specialist HF 80
100% Prison and Reintegration (JuWe) is responsible as part of the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs of the Canton of Zurich for the execution of penalties and measures as well as the implementation of the various types of detention.
For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of people who have committed crimes and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.

Company and context
- As a central organizational unit, it ensures harmonized and high-quality health care according to the equivalence principle and works closely with the Psychiatric Psychological Service and the JuWe institutions.
- As part of the Zurich prison facilities (VEZ), the Centre for Administrative Detention under Foreigners Law (ZAA) has 130 detention places in the immediate vicinity of Zurich Airport.
- It is responsible for the accommodation of persons without a valid residence status whose alien law procedure must be ensured, taking into account different personal and individual needs of the admitted persons.
- To supplement the medical service, we are looking for you immediately or by agreement. This is your area of activity
- You are the professional and therefore responsible for initial intervention in medical and psychiatric emergencies, admission checks and basic medical care for the detained persons
- You support the doctor’s visit and maintain lively contact with various external bodies
- Working hours from Monday to Sunday in shift operation from 07:00-20:00 with a maximum of 2 weekends per month (usually only one weekend)
- You work closely with our supervisors and train them for emergencies
- You want to immerse yourself in the prison world and interact with people from different cultures You bring that with you
