NCCR CLIM+: PhD in Water and Agriculture — Agroscope
Role overview
Shipments - Develop an advanced agroidrological modeling framework - Integrate large sets of environmental data, field observations and remote sensing data - Evaluate answers and identify the main vulnerabilities of agricultural production systems to extreme weather events and their cascading effects - Quantify the potential and limits of adaptation strategies (e.g. irrigation optimization, water retention measures) - Collaboration with stakeholders to co-design feasible solutions - Present and disseminate research results both to the scientific community and to a wider audience Requirements - Master degree in hydrology, environmental engineering, agricultural sciences, climate science, geography, Earth system science or related disciplines - Strong quantitative and analytical skills - Experience in hydrological modeling and/or crop growth - Programming skills (Python/R/Matlab) - Interest in climate adaptation, sustainable agriculture and systemic thinking - Knowledge of two official languages and English
This page consolidates the key details of the listing and presents them in a structured format for cross-border candidates targeting Zurigo.
Always verify required language, actual office location and application flow before submitting: some positions include international interview steps.
Before applying, compare this role with local cost of living and net salary simulation to assess real take-home sustainability.
