Full description
The Unit-Linked team within Savings & Retirement is part of Zurich’s global Life, Health and Bank Distribution business. The Unit-Linked team focuses on capital light products and propositions. The current focus is on unit-linked savings in a number of countries, and our ambition is to broaden the scope of our products and propositions as customer needs change as a result of ageing populations, and as the market and competitive environment evolves.
The team has a flat structure and is effectively organized in two parts (clearly there is some overlap and the intention is not to silo tasks, but to foster a fast paced and agile working environment):
Proposition
- “Front end” facing business units focused on product design, business fit and delivery
- Detailed understanding of product structures, flows and financials
- Execution & project oriented including specific structuring solutions to address local business unit (BU) challenges
Structuring Analytics
- “Back end” supporting analytics and tools
- Asset, Liability, Capital modelling support or development as needed
- Structuring, hedging, and financing including, for example, capital efficient guarantees, hybrid market and insurance risk products
What you will do
- Develop a framework and appropriate tooling for evaluating and creating new capital light and market-risk products across Savings (e.g. unit-linked, hybrid unit-linked) and Retirement (e.g. drawdown).
- Drive technical analytics and act as an analytics bridge between Savings & Retirement, BUs and
- Group Departments to facilitate sharing of data and tooling.
- Bring expertise, and drive developments, in product and capital modelling related to capital light products including risk structuring, risk management and risk transformation.
- Expertise means ability to develop when needed, but also to share, evaluate and use what already exists where it is fit for purpose.
- Analyse, and implement where needed: required capital methodology, risk assessments, liquidity implications, and accounting considerations working closely with Investment, Risk and Finance teams.
- Support, and drive where needed, execution of projects working closely with the Proposition team members and local BU counterparts to ensure useful and needed tooling is in place to quantify risks and financial flows.
- Challenge constructively and creatively, helping teams converge on clear decisions and pragmatic solutions.
What you bring
- Team player instincts and an understanding that the team is more than the sum of its parts
- Excellent technical skills including ability to assess and/or model complex cash flow systems through the use of data and code (can be supported by AI)
- Excellent insurance product knowledge.
- A passion for innovation in insurance markets and the broader capital markets
- Data analytics, applied statistics experience or similar.
- A flair for working successfully in an environment with multiple geographies and stakeholders including negotiation/influencing skills and customer insight capability.
- Strong change and transformation capability including driving/supporting project/program management when needed.
- 10+ years’ experience in insurance or financial services.
- Detailed understanding of insurance economics and product structures and the ability to support the business throughout the product life cycle.
- Detailed understanding of different regulatory and capital regimes.
- Fluent in English. Other languages a plus.

Questions about this listing
What salary does Zurich Insurance offer for this role?
The original listing does not state a salary. Our estimate for this role and sector in Zürich is CHF 189'000 - 331'500 gross per year — an estimate, not a figure communicated by Zurich Insurance. The calculator on this site converts a gross salary into your actual net take-home once cross-border tax and social contributions are applied.
Is this a full-time role, and what type of contract does Zurich Insurance offer?
This listing is a full-time position. The contract type shown here comes directly from the employer's original posting; always confirm exact hours, notice period and probation length with Zurich Insurance during the application process, since these details can vary by role even within the same contract category.
Do I need a cross-border work permit for a role in Zürich?
EU/EFTA residents living in the border zone of the country adjoining Canton Zürich can apply for a G permit; the Swiss employer files it with that canton's migration office after the contract is signed. Border-zone rules and processing times vary by neighbouring country and canton, so confirm the specifics with Zürich's cantonal migration office or with HR during the application.
