Gastronomy at the ZHAW Wädenswil is part of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences. The gastronomy in Wädenswil consists of the Mensa Grüntal and the Mensa Vista. Furthermore, numerous internal and external caterings are carried out. True to the ZFV philosophy, freshly cooked locally with regional, ecologically well-produced and fair trade food. Are you our new team member who supports us as Operations Manager: in (70-100%) as of 1 October or 1 November 2026? You work from Monday to Friday in a workload between 70-100% from 06:00 to 15:00, 07:00 to 16:00 or from 09:00 to 18:00. Your area of activity:

• You run the business with an entrepreneurial mindset and ensure a smooth daily routine as well as the highest quality of service
• As a host: you are visibly present in the company, inspire our guests and maintain cooperation with the client:
• You plan and develop the gastronomic offer, implement sales promotion measures and organize catering and special events
• You are responsible for the business management of the company, create the budget, analyze key figures and initiate optimization measures
• You ensure compliance with our quality, hygiene, safety and sustainability standards
• You lead, promote and develop your team, ensure optimal operational planning and create an appreciative team culture
• You recruit new employees together with the People & Culture department and support their successful induction
• You work closely with internal and external partners and assume administrative tasks in the areas of purchasing and finance Your strengths:
• Completed basic training (EFZ) in the catering or hotel industry
• Completed further education at a hotel school or gastronomy basic seminar G2
• Several years of professional experience (about 5–10 years) in the catering or hotel industry as well as at least two years of management experience
• Strong business understanding and pleasure in developing a business entrepreneurially
• Secure handling of Microsoft Office as well as experience with industry-standard IT and POS systems
• Very good administrative skills as well as a structured and independent working method
• Style-confident knowledge of German in words and writing
• Entrepreneurial and strategic thinking as well as a solution-oriented and innovative way of working
• High guest and service orientation combined with strong communication and organizational strength
