Apprentice polymechanic (a)

Broad, well-founded and varied vocational training is a central concern for us. However, with an apprenticeship in research, we would like to teach you not only the pure professional trade, but also enjoy your work. To this end, we offer you the opportunity to do internships with our industrial partners during your apprenticeship in order to significantly expand your wealth of experience.

The basic prerequisites for successful vocational training at Empa are motivation, enthusiasm and flexibility, as well as a certain degree of self-discipline. Values such as independence, a sense of responsibility, creativity, customer orientation and the ability to think ahead, ahead and ahead will accompany you throughout your training with us. We will also support you with "Saphir", our in-house concept for supporting apprentices. Responsibilities

• Production of workpieces and systems for research and testing facilities
• Turning, drilling and milling of metals and plastics with conventional and CNC machines
• Assembly of assemblies
• Developing small design solutions and creating technical drawings
• Programming of workpieces on modern CAD/CAM software

Your profile

• Your secondary school diploma is within reach and you have good grades (Sek A) to very good grades (Sek B) in the subjects Arithmetic/Algebra as well as Geometry, Physics and German.
• Your very good spatial imagination is paired with a willingness to learn and perform and, of course, you enjoy working with metals and plastics.
• We require a great interest in modern, complex machines as well as a talent for precise and speedy work.
• A high sense of responsibility and the ability to work in a team are other important components.
