Head of Business Development (80-100%) (a)

The Real Estate Department is responsible for the operation, maintenance and management of Empa’s infrastructure. It is also the joint client representative body of three research institutions in the ETH Domain. As a staff office with specialist and managerial responsibility, you are the central contact person for organizational development and digitalization – for all three line areas Construction & Projects, Technology & Operation as well as Management & Services and higher level for the department as a whole. For this, you lead a small team technically and personnel.

Their tasks

You identify and implement strategies for organizational development and digitization and lead and coordinate associated IT and business development projects in compliance with quality, deadline and cost targets. You will evaluate and implement new technologies and solutions for process optimization and lead a small team (2-3 employees) in the areas of application management and data management. In cooperation with departmental and divisional managers, you will develop digitalization strategies and shape Empa’s real estate strategy in the areas of business development and IT. Your profile

have completed studies in business informatics, business administration or a related field

• Additional qualifications in business development or IT management are beneficial. They bring several years of professional experience in business development, ideally in the real estate industry or the public sector, as well as proven experience in the management and implementation of IT and digitization projects. Experience in the professional and personnel management of employees is an advantage. You are familiar with project management and are well versed in dealing with agile methods and tools.

Strong analytical and strategic thinking as well as a high affinity for digital technologies and innovations distinguish you as well as a team- and solution-oriented way of working.
