Lead Core Banking Switzerland — Sygnum Bank

Full description

We are looking for a senior Product Manager / Product Owner to lead Sygnum’s Core Banking Switzerland capabilities end-to-end. The role requires someone who can manage architectural and organisational complexity across the tri-party setup with Sygnum, Swisscom, and Finnova, while focusing the team’s efforts on the work that creates the biggest impact for the bank. The scope covers Sygnum’s Core Banking Services Platform, including internal integration applications, the Swisscom Managed Finance ecosystem (MFE), and the Finnova integration landscape, including SIL, FIL, ODS, and related services. You will act as the accountable interface across business, operations, compliance, technology, Release Management, and external vendors, ensuring priorities are clear and delivery remains controlled. Your main responsibilities

• Drive Core Banking Switzerland end-to-end, from discovery and roadmap definition through delivery, launch, and ongoing operations (change & run)
• Translate business, operational, regulatory, and vendor needs into a clear, outcome-driven backlog with explicit priorities, trade-offs, and acceptance criteria
• Provide subject matter expertise on core banking processes, integrations, and architectural dependencies
• Lead Swisscom and Finnova change requests, including analysis, scope definition, impact assessment, and commercial alignment
• Manage vendor governance for Swisscom and Finnova, including SLA oversight, dependency management, delivery follow-up, and escalations
• Coordinate incident and problem resolution with Swisscom (or Finnova where needed), including root-cause follow-up and continuous improvement
• Partner with technology and architecture teams on integration patterns, data flows, resilience, security, performance, and other non-functional requirements
• Work with Release Management and relevant owners to plan and release changes safely across the tri-party setup
• Support budget planning and financial monitoring for Swisscom and Finnova-related services, changes, and dependencies
• Run the agile delivery setup, including backlog ownership, sprint prioritisation, PI preparation where relevant, and collaboration through Jira and Confluence You are a senior Product Manager with strong core banking experience and the ability to combine product leadership, vendor governance, and hands-on delivery discipline in a regulated environment. You can structure ambiguity, manage senior stakeholders, and turn complexity into clear priorities, reliable delivery, and stable operations. You bring:
• 7+ years of experience in product management or product ownership for core banking, banking platforms, payments, ledger, reconciliation, or similar regulated financial services environments
• Strong understanding of core banking capabilities and operating models, including accounts, payments, ledger, reconciliation, integrations, and operational controls
• Experience with Finnova or a comparable core banking vendor ecosystem. Direct Finnova exposure is an advantage
• Proven ability to define strategy and roadmaps, prioritise based on outcomes and trade-offs, and drive delivery to completion
• Strong vendor and stakeholder management skills, including scope definition, SLA oversight, commercial discussions, and dependency management
• Strong analytical skills to structure requirements into decision material, delivery plans, and a high-quality backlog
• High ownership mindset across change and run, including incident triage, root-cause follow-up, operational stability, and continuous improvement
• Effective written and verbal communication in English and German, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders and external vendors
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, information systems, or equivalent practical experience Nice to have
• Knowledge of Finnova Open Platform, SIL, FIL, ODS, or related Swiss core banking integration patterns
• Experience with Program Increments, value streams, or scaled agile delivery models in financial services
• API-first product experience and comfort collaborating with engineering on integrations, data flows, and non-functional requirements
• Experience scaling platform products in high-growth or regulated banking environments
