Applications must be submitted in writing with a letter of application, a short curriculum vitae and a recently issued (not older than one year) statement of penal and enforcement records.

Don’t forget to submit the official application form mentioned on the Justice Council website.

• Lawyer's patent, licence or master's degree and sufficient practical knowledge for the performance of the office

• Experience in the field of the peace court according to art. 58 JG is an advantage

• Voting rights in cantonal matters. Foreign nationals must hold a residence permit and have been resident in the canton for at least five years. There shall be no loss certificates against the persons. They must not have been convicted of acts incompatible with the judicial office

• Mastering the French language with good knowledge of the German language
