About the role
Job summary The Group IT Sr. Support is responsible for providing advanced technical support to end-users, resolving IT issues, and maintaining IT systems. This role works autonomously and supports non-routine technical problems. This job profile is intended for experienced professional-level staff that generally works autonomously and only requires closer supervision in non-routine situations. The Sulzer Group operates at more than 150 locations worldwide and specializes in pumps, maintenance and services for rotating machines as well as separation, reaction and mixing technology. In Group Functions at our headquarters in Winterthur, Switzerland, highly qualified specialists work in various cross-divisional disciplines. For our IT team at our location in Winterthur, we are looking for a customer-oriented and independent IT client support for our users in Switzerland.
2nd Level IT Supporter (100%)
Your task
In this varied function, you support Sulzer employees (mainly at the Winterthur location and other locations) with inquiries regarding IT disruptions and other IT concerns using modern IT tools on site and via remote connections. This includes in everyday life, among other things:
- As the first point of contact for our employees at the headquarters Provide professional 2nd-level IT support on site and remotely securely. Your focus is on caring for your region, with you also supporting other locations if necessary.
- You are jointly responsible for the stable and future-oriented operation of our local IT infrastructure and support Windows workstations, mobile devices, networks, servers and numerous company-specific applications and systems.
- They install, configure and manage devices including smartphones and accessories.
- They analyze and solve incidents and service requests independently and purposefully using modern IT service management tools.
- They work closely with 3rd-level support, external service providers and internal departments to ensure sustainable solutions.
- They work according to ITIL standards and ensure compliance with defined service levels (SLAs) and relevant quality indicators (KPIs).
- You plan, coordinate and manage modern video conferencing solutions with Microsoft Teams and Yealink systems.
- You actively participate in exciting local and global IT projects and contribute your ideas for the continuous improvement of our IT landscape.
- You accompany new employees at the start and share your IT know-how in everyday work.
- They provide our executives and VIP users with world-class IT services and support at important meetings, management events and townhalls.
Your profile
- Successfully completed IT training
- Several years of professional experience in 2nd and/or 3rd-level support
- Professional experience in VIP support is beneficial (preferably in a comparable corporate structure)
- ITIL or Microsoft certifications (server / client / network) are advantageous
- Very good English skills in word and writing
- Strong customer and service orientation
- Analytical, structured and problem-solving approach
- Independent, but also team-oriented work
- Flexibility in terms of tasks and working hours in the shift model (07:00 to 16:00 or 09:00 to 18:00) as well as the willingness to take on occasional business trips.
- Experience in the care and support of apprentices is beneficial
