Join families in one of the most important moments of their lives.In our childbirth department, we accompany expectant parents competently, empathetically and individually during pregnancy, birth and postpartum. We bear responsibility for each other, support each other in everyday life and shape a professional, safe and human care culture together.
The birth department at USZ is part of one of the largest perinatal centers in German-speaking Switzerland. With around 2,400 births per year, you can expect a versatile and demanding working environment in which you can contribute your expertise and passion for obstetrics every day. >The University Hospital Zurich is one of the largest hospitals in Switzerland. Our more than 8,600 employees and around 700 trainees work every day for the well-being of our patients. Tasks: • Holistic care and support of women and their families during pregnancy, childbirth and the first period thereafter • Independent management of physiological births as well as co-care of obstetric and medical risk and crisis situations • Participation in preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic measures in a university environment • Ensuring professional and patient-centred care • Collaboration with the interprofessional team of doctors: inside, nurses and other specialist areas • Active participation in the further development of processes and standards in the birth department • Accompanying and supporting midwife students in everyday work Requirements • Completed training as midwife BSc or FH • Joy of accompanying families around the birth • High level of technical and social competence and an appreciative attitude towards patients and relatives • Ability to set priorities and keep track even in demanding situations • Enjoy working in an interprofessional team • Independent, responsible and solution-oriented working method • Readiness for shift operations We offer: • An open, appreciative culture of cooperation • A dedicated and experienced team that supports each other and masters challenges together • A versatile and exciting working environment in a university perinatal center • Space for professional participation and further development of obstetrics at the USZ • The opportunity to competently accompany families in one of the most important phases of life • The job is initially limited to one year.
