Description - Managing the Research Group Horticultural Extension from the technical and administrative point of view (organization, finance, staff) and taking on the general responsibility of guiding the activities on the basis of the needs of practice and the scientific excellence of the group - Assuming general responsibility and the role of main contact person for questions and practical research related to open-field horticulture at Agroscope; in charge of the development and management of interdisciplinary projects with representatives of the interested Agroscope divisions and external partners - Taking responsibility for the acquisition of third-party projects and funds from competitive programs, industry and other sponsors - Responsibility for the exchange of knowledge with horticultural practice and counselling, further tasks of public relations and the drafting of specific horticultural remedies for practice, in particular in the field of plant protection - Representing Agroscope within national and international bodies and organizations to create network and expand practical skills in horticultural matters - PhD in agricultural sciences with specialization in plant/orticulture production (or similar training) and proven research experience in these sectors, ideally in practice-oriented projects involving more actors - Experience in practice or in similar productive sectors - Wide professional network in the field of plant and vegetable production and solid knowledge of the framework conditions of Swiss plant production - Spiccate leadership skills, strong team spirit and convincing communication skills - Excellent knowledge of two official languages and oral and written English
