The alarm center is the contact point for all incidents in the protection of persons, buildings and facilities. The security service is responsible for the control of the security facilities in the buildings and the initial intervention in the event of an incident.

Your tasks – responsibility, impact and scope for design
In this key position, you assume overall responsibility for the alarm organization of ETH Zurich with around 20 employees (including 4 direct subordinates). They ensure that all personal, building and plant protection events at all ETH locations are handled professionally, efficiently and reliably in 24/7/365 operation.
They lead the team of the alarm centre, the security service and the IT AMS department and together with them ensure a high-availability, excellent quality service provision. You always have in mind that the alarm center and security service are a visible business card of the ETH – accordingly, you rely on professionalism, respect and a strong team appearance.
A central part of your work is the further development of the organization: you analyze existing processes, optimize processes in a targeted manner and drive digitalization forward. They ensure that systems such as AMS are up-to-date and define technical tools that efficiently support everyday operations. At the same time, you guarantee consistent compliance with all legal and internal ETH requirements.
They carry out structured quality checks and debriefings, derive concrete improvement measures and ensure that the organization continuously learns and develops.
In your leadership role, you set clear goals, delegate effectively and create transparency. You actively develop your employees – through location determinations, training, talent development and forward-looking succession planning. Even in challenging situations, you remain present, make quick decisions and lead your team through challenging situations.
