In the coming decades, the University Hospital of Zurich will significantly renew and expand its structural infrastructure in order to meet the high demands of modern cutting-edge medicine and the needs of patients and employees. On the basis of forecasts for performance development, the future resource requirements are determined together with the core business and the long-term structural target planning (master planning) including the necessary elapsing is developed from this.

Their main tasks

As a project manager, you will design the hospital of the future together with your colleagues in the department of the same name and with USZ internal and external experts. They coordinate all activities from resource calculation to the start of the project planning of the upcoming strategic construction projects. The three-person team reports directly to the Head of Planning, Construction and Land Management, works interdisciplinary, very independent and self-organized. You are responsible for the following tasks in the team:

• Revision and further development of target planning / master planning for the (construction) overall renewal including associated stages and castles
• Further development of the overarching processes of the hospital as well as the central strategic concepts as a basis for the hospital of the future
• Preparation of analyses and forecasts for performance development (ambulatory and stationary care as well as research & teaching)
• Analysis and determination of the resource requirements of the USZ over time for e.g. the number of examination rooms, hospital beds, operating rooms and workplaces;
• Development of operational concepts and support for their implementation (focus on medicine, nursing and medical-technical and medical-therapeutic professions, research and teaching)
• Preparation of usage concepts and specifications in preparation for competitions and study assignments
• Leadership and cooperation in interdisciplinary/interprofessional teams for the development of strategies, concepts and studies
• Preparation and presentation of decision-making principles for the hospital administration (GL),

Your profile

• Completed university studies with business background
• In-depth knowledge of clinical structures and processes as well as their functional relationships in the hospital complex
• Strong analytical skills; networked and interdisciplinary thinking with creative and innovative approaches to new topics
• Experience with scenario planning methods and processes.
• Very high social and negotiation skills, extremely capable of teamwork
• Strong communication, presentation and assertiveness
• Cooperative/constructive and resilient, pronounced can-do-attitude
