Job description

The optimal teaching for young adults with a knack for animals and interest in research!

In this varied teaching you deal with the following activities:

• Care, care and breeding of experimental animals including cage, feed and water changes and daily health monitoring
• Organisation and implementation of internal and external animal transport including control of delivery and hygiene documents
• Taking of samples (blood, faeces, urine, tissue) and carrying out applications within the framework of experiments
• Ensuring animal welfare in cooperation with animal welfare and veterinary services
• Documentation of the test animals, work carried out and possible disease reports according to animal welfare guidelines

The training lasts 3 years and takes place mainly on the Hönggerberg campus of the ETH and in a partner company on the Irchel.

Profile

You are skilled in dealing with animals and have the necessary sensitivity in your care and attitude. In addition, you have a good power of observation, are attentive, patient, reliable and responsible. Furthermore, you are physically resilient and have a motor skill.

For this vocational apprenticeship you need a mandatory school degree and good performance in the following school subjects:

• Biology
• English
