This is the job - your main tasks
In this role, you design architectures that are not only technologically sustainable, but also make a clear contribution to the transformation of our customers. You move between enterprise architecture, solution design and integration issues and bring structure to complex projects along the industrial value chain.
- Development of strategic targets and architecture roadmaps along the entire manufacturing value chain
- Evaluation of relevant technology trends such as Industry 4.0, digital twins or modern platform approaches with regard to their architectural relevance
- Conception of end-to-end solution designs for central business solutions in areas such as CRM, ERP, PLM or MES
- Translation of professional requirements into robust and feasible technical solutions in close cooperation with business, IT and management
- Development of modern integration architectures with a focus on middleware, API management, event-driven architecture, shopfloor integration and real-time data exchange
- Implementation of architectural assessments and support for make-or-buy decisions in the context of selection and procurement processes
- Definition of architectural principles, standards and governance guidelines as well as co-creation of suitable operating models in the architectural context
This job is for you if
- several years of experience in IT consulting or in architectural work within demanding industrial environments
- complex relationships can be quickly captured, structured and translated into clear architectural targets
- the ability exists to comprehend technically demanding topics in an understandable manner and to convey them at different levels in a manner appropriate to the addressees
- a reliable understanding of central processes in manufacturing – for example in R&D, production, supply chain and sales & service – is available
- in-depth architectural knowledge can be used in established business systems such as ERP and CRM/CX solutions, such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce
- Experience in setting up or in integrating PLM, CAD or MES solutions in a shop floor environment
- modern integration concepts, API management and software architectures such as microservices and cloud-native approaches are securely mastered
- Knowledge of Azure or AWS cloud ecosystems and a good understanding of modern infrastructure concepts
- Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and notations such as UML or ArchiMate are routinely applied
As an i-top you bring with you
- Certifications in the architecture or cloud environment, such as TOGAF, CPSA/iSAQB or Azure/AWS Architect
- Practical knowledge in Industry 4.0 concepts and relevant standards as well as their application in concrete transformation projects
- Experience in the design of industrial data platforms or in the integration of AI use cases
- Know-how in the field of security architecture, such as Zero Trust, Identity Management, IEC 62443 or ISO 27001
- Routine in agile working methods such as Scrum or SAFe as well as the ability to use them effectively in the customer environment
