Tasks

We are looking for a dedicated person to participate in a research project on the study of skin tissue of dogs with spontaneous and experimentally induced Cushing syndrome in cooperation with the Institute of Animal Pathology of the University of Bern. Skin bioptates are available for this purpose, which are evaluated histologically and by means of modern, AI-supported digital pathology software (Visiopharm). The focus is on the identification of tissue markers that are relevant for the pathogenesis of Cushing syndrome and have an influence on wound healing. In addition to classical histological stainings and immunohistochemical investigations, it is possible to apply modern multiplex tissue analyses and learn about innovative methods of digital pathology. After a six-month training phase on site in Bern, some of the evaluations are possible regardless of location. If interested, there is also the possibility of later participation in the endocrinological consultation in Zurich. Previous knowledge of histology is beneficial, but not a condition. Joy in working with the PC, careful laboratory work and scientific work is more important to us.
