Canton of Zurich Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs Imprisonment and Reintegration Medical Service Doctor / Medical Service 50% Imprisonment and Reintegration (JuWe) is responsible as part of the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs of the Canton of Zurich for the execution of penalties and measures as well as the execution of various types of detention.
For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of people who have committed crimes and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The newly created Main Department of the Medical Service provides basic medical and somatic care for the detained persons in all prison institutions of the Canton of Zurich.

Company and context
- As a central organizational unit, it ensures harmonized and high-quality health care according to the equivalence principle and works closely with the Psychiatric Psychological Service and the JuWe institutions.
- The main department operates as an outpatient medical institution and Spitex institution with appropriate sanitary authorization and ensures the billing of medical and nursing services according to the mandatory health insurance.
- For medical care at the JVA Pöschwies site in Regensdorf, we are looking for a dedicated medical specialist who can provide site-specific care. This is your field of action
- You are responsible for the implementation of the medical requirements at the Regensdorf site and ensure the medical care of the detained persons in accordance with the principle of equivalence
- Diagnosing and treating in your regular medical consultation hours You are the detainees and provide primary medical care in urgent situations
- You participate in case discussions and work closely with the medical site management and representatives of other professional groups, with the distribution of tasks and interfaces clearly defined
- Ensure the quality of medical care, promote compliance with medical standards and implement preventive measures to maintain the health of detainees
- You create medical reports, record the services and document the treatments according to legal requirements This will bring You with
- You have completed your medical studies and ideally completed the specialist training for General Internal Medicine.
- Additional experience in psychiatry, addiction medicine or emergency medicine is beneficial
