We are looking for an Application DevOps Engineer to help drive automated deployments, GitOps-based delivery, and infrastructure-as-code across cloud and on-premise environments. • Develop automation and integration scripts in PowerShell, Python, Perl, Bash, and CMD, and work with structured formats such as XML, JSON, and XSL where required.
  • Operate and support monitoring and job scheduling platforms such as Patrol, Elastic, Grafana, and Airflow.
  • Take operational ownership of production services throughout their lifecycle, including deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, recovery, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in a regular on-call rotation for business-critical production systems, responding to incidents outside regular business hours when required, and taking ownership of troubleshooting, mitigation, escalation, and service restoration.
  • Lead or actively contribute to incident response, root-cause analysis and post-incident reviews, turning lessons learned into monitoring, automation and reliability improvements.

What You Bring

  • Strong DevOps mindset with experience across the software delivery lifecycle and operating production systems.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python and shell, along with practical experience using GitLab CI/CD; experience with Ansible and infrastructure-as-code is highly valued.
  • Solid understanding of Linux, networking fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience operating production systems and containerized application platforms such as Kubernetes or OpenShift, including deployment, monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, Splunk, or similar tools in containerized environments.
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills across applications, Linux/Windows, TCP/IP networking, DNS, firewalls, TLS and containerized platforms.
  • Fluent English
  • German and/or Spanish are an advantage.

What salary does SIX Group offer for this role?

The original listing does not state a salary. Our estimate for this role and sector in Zürich is CHF 73'500 - 111'500 gross per year — an estimate, not a figure communicated by SIX Group. The calculator on this site converts a gross salary into your actual net take-home once cross-border tax and social contributions are applied.

This listing is a full-time position. The contract type shown here comes directly from the employer's original posting; always confirm exact hours, notice period and probation length with SIX Group during the application process, since these details can vary by role even within the same contract category.

Do I need a cross-border work permit for a role in Zürich?

EU/EFTA residents living in the border zone of the country adjoining Canton Zürich can apply for a G permit; the Swiss employer files it with that canton's migration office after the contract is signed. Border-zone rules and processing times vary by neighbouring country and canton, so confirm the specifics with Zürich's cantonal migration office or with HR during the application.
