Canton of Zurich Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs Prison and Reintegration Employees: in Technical Service 80 - 100% With around 1400 employees, JuWe is the largest office within the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs and responsible for the execution of penalties and measures as well as for the execution of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of delinquents and work effectively and progressively for a safe and just society. The Zurich Detention Centers (UGZ) are one of eight main departments of JuWe. They comprise seven companies with about 735 prison places and about 500 employees. They are responsible for provisional arrest, pre-trial detention and security detention, as well as the premature execution of penalties and measures until transfer to a prison institution. From the outset, they thus fulfil a central function within the Zurich justice system. As part of the UGZ, Zurich West Prison is located in the Zurich Police and Justice Centre and has 241 detention places. It specialises in temporary arrest and pre-trial detention and plays a key role in the reception and first-aid of detained persons. As of 1 November 2026 or by agreement, we are looking for a committed and responsible personality for the Central Services department to strengthen our technical service. Your field of activity

• You carry out inspections, maintenance and repairs and repair technical problems according to the defined processes
• You plan and take over recurring maintenance as well as annual maintenance
• Together with the responsible areas, you ensure structural and technical safety as well as reliable operation
• For internal projects, conversions and optimizations, you take over technical sub-tasks and – depending on experience – the management of sub-projects
• You coordinate and accompany external specialists and service companies and coordinate closely with the internal bodies
• You create and maintain technical documentation and reports
• With your expertise and ideas, you help to continuously improve our technical infrastructure and processes You bring that with you
• You have completed basic technical training (EFZ), e.g. as an automatic engineer, electrical installer, electromechanic or mechanic with electrical / IT experience. Also a comparable technical training suits us
• You bring a broad technical understanding and practical experience in maintenance. Knowledge of electrical engineering, mechanics and/or technical IT systems is an advantage
• You think analytically and networked and tackle tasks independently, structured and solution-oriented
• You have good IT user knowledge and enjoy working with technical systems
• You can communicate well orally and in writing in German
• You are well organized, communicate clearly and enjoy working with different internal and external contacts
