Role overview
Your tasks Caring for children and adolescents with hemophilia, rare coagulation disorders; Further development of the Zurich Hemophilia Center (together with the USZ) as a national KOSEK and international HCCC reference center Diagnosis and management of thrombosis and thrombophilias across all pediatric age groups; Management of the anticoagulation clinic; perioperative coagulation management in collaboration with pediatric cardiac surgery and intensive care medicine care of children with sickle cell disease, thalassemia and rare erythrocyte diseases; management of chronic transfusion programs and iron chelation therapy; Indication for stem cell transplantation and gene therapy for hemoglobinopathies Diagnosis and therapy of congenital and acquired bone marrow failure syndromes - aplastic anemia, Fanconi anemia, Diamond-Blackfan anemia, Shwachman-Diamond syndrome, congenital neutropenia - as well as myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) in children, in collaboration with the Oncology Department Care of immune cytopenias (ITP, AIHA, Evans syndrome) and rare thrombocytopathies Participation in the stem cell transplant service; clinical support and indication for non-malignant transplant indications Management and expansion of a transition program for adolescents with chronic hematological diseases into adult hematology at the USZ • Your profile FMH Pediatrics with a focus on pediatric hematology-oncology; Expertise in hemostaseology acquired at internationally recognized centers; Willingness to be on call for hematological emergencies Strong leadership and team skills, cooperative management style as well as the ability to combine strategic program development with everyday clinical practice Willingness to take responsibility and actively shape a growing specialist area Clear and appreciative communication with patients, families, referring physicians and various internal departments Scientifically proven profile with publications in peer-reviewed journals, proven acquisition of third-party funding and active membership in relevant national or international professional societies (SPOG, GTH, ISTH or equivalent) in the field of hematology/hemostasiology Experience in the conception and implementation of clinical studies as well as with non-factor replacement therapies (emicizumab etc.
