Shape the future of hematology at Zurich City Hospital
In recent years, hematology and medical oncology have developed into independent, highly specialized disciplines. In order to meet this development as well as the increasing demands on patient care, research and teaching, the two departments at the Zurich City Hospital will in future be led by their own chief medical officers.
For this challenging key position, we are looking for an entrepreneurial and visionary leader. In this role, you will be responsible for and shape the strategic, professional and cross-locational development of hematology at the Zurich City Hospital and, together with the Head of Medical Oncology, shape the future of modern, university cancer medicine.
Tasks
- Professional, strategic and personnel management of hematology at a center hospital with several locations
- Further development of hematology with a particular focus on malignant hematology, cellular therapies and innovative treatment methods
- Ensuring high-quality care for patients in the entire spectrum of benign and malignant haematology and clotting medicine
- Responsibility for the further development of cooperation with the University Hospital Zurich, especially in the field of immunological and cellular therapies and stem cell transplantation
- Design and maintenance of the interface between clinic and haematological laboratory diagnostics in close cooperation with the responsible institutes and departments
- Partnership and equal cooperation with the Chief Medical Oncology on strategic, organizational and medical issues
- Participation in research, teaching and the positioning of the Zurich City Hospital as a leading hematological competence centre
Profile
- Specialist title haematology (FMH); FAMH title or corresponding experience in the laboratory environment is advantageous
- Proven expertise in malignant haematology with a focus on cellular therapies
- Experience in stem cell transplantation
- In-depth understanding of the requirements of modern haematological diagnostics and the interface between clinic and laboratory
- Several years of leadership and management experience at cadre level in a university or center hospital
- Leadership training is beneficial
- Experience in collaboration with university centers and interdisciplinary networks as well as in complex clinical cooperation models
- Strong social skills, negotiating skills and the ability for collegial and consensus-oriented leadership in the two-head doctor model
- Scientific profile with commitment to research and teaching
- Habilitation beneficial, but not a prerequisite
