- Participation (preparation, accompaniment, execution of medical diagnostics) e.g. residual urine determination with single-use catheter, urodynamics (bladder pressure measurement), preparation and assistance with bladder ultrasound.
- Instruction for performing a drinking/voiding protocol, evaluation of the same.
- Urotherapist with completed training at Careum Aarau or Klinikum l.d.W. in Bremen
- APN (advanced practice nurse), care expert for continence promotion Empathy, social competence
Main responsibilities
- Participation (preparation, accompaniment, execution of medical diagnostics) e.g. residual urine determination with single-use catheter, urodynamics (bladder pressure measurement), preparation and assistance with bladder ultrasound.
- Instruction for performing a drinking/voiding protocol, evaluation of the same.
- Consultation and training on the use of assistive devices for promoting and maintaining continence (in the use of vaginal tampons or pessaries, teaching intermittent self-catheterism, adjusting the absorbent material/offer).
- Instruction in the use of lying bladder retention catheter, drainage systems.
- Changing transurethral permanent catheters or suprapubic fistulas.
- Consultation on skin care in case of incontinence, as well as for peri/postmenopausal mucosal changes in the genital area.
- Documentation/collection of performed therapies in the electronic patient record.
- Performance recording.
- Participation in the interdisciplinary pelvic floor board with urology, visceral surgery/gastroenterology, and physiotherapy. Requirements
