We train you to be a firefighter! You will learn the practical know-how at the professional fire brigade in the city of Zurich and at the airport, the theoretical expertise will be taught to you at the Higher School for Rescue Professions. We do not offer you a job off the shelf, but professions with sense and responsibility for society and the environment. Protection & Rescue Zurich, as a service department of the Department of Security, unites the professional and militia fire brigades, the medical department and the operational control center for the emergency calls 118 and 144. At the start of training September 2027/2028 we are looking for motivated personalities for the Training professional firefighter*woman with federal law. FA
Tasks
- As part of this second training, we train you as a firefighting professional
- You get the practical know-how in our professional fire brigade in the city of Zurich as well as at the airport
- Theoretical expertise is taught to you at the Higher School for Rescue Occupations by experienced lecturers*

- Completed training (Federal Certificate of Competence EFZ or Matura)
- Category B (Category C at start of training)
- Solid physical and mental health
- An ideal size of 164-194 cm

Protection & Rescue, as a service department of the Department of Security, unites the professional and militia fire brigade, the medical department and the operational control center (ELZ) for the emergency calls 144 and 118. In addition, civil protection, fire police and a training center with an affiliated high school for rescue occupations belong to the largest rescue organization in Switzerland. Intervention and prevention units protect and save people, animals, property and the environment around the clock in the city of Zurich, at Zurich Airport and in the agglomeration.
