The Institute of General Medical Medicine at the University Hospital Zurich offers the curriculum of general medical care as a 2-year course of further education for prospective general practitioners. The curriculum of general medical care enables access to attractive further education centres which prepare for a later job in basic care. The University Hospital Zurich is one of the largest hospitals in Switzerland. Our more than 8,600 employees and about 700 trainees are committed to the welfare of our patients every day.

Tasks

• 2 year curriculum consisting of three rotations in specialist fields relevant for general practitioners (à 6 months) and a 6-month practical assistance
• Rotations in emergency medicine, psychiatry and geriatrics (full time)
• Practical assistance in a basic care practice in the canton of ZH (part time possible)
• Practical preparation for later basic services
• possibilities for supervising ultrasound

Requirements

• Swiss doctor's diploma or EU doctor's diploma (MEBEKO recognition required)
• Career goal as a general practitioner (FMH General Internal Medicine)
• 3 years of experience in General Internal Medicine, including at least 2 years of inpatient internal medicine including A-year
• At least 18 months of work experience in Switzerland
• German language level: minimum C1

We offer: We offer a position for Track 3 in the Curriculum of General Medical Medicine from January 2027. The rotations take place at the USZ as well as in cooperation with outpatient medical practices. The focus of emergency rotation is on the fast track including small surgery.
