Canton of Zurich Education Directorate Cantonal School Stadelhofen Branch Dübendorf Physics Assistant/-in 80 - 100% The branch Dübendorf of the Cantonal School Stadelhofen has been running a high school, a short high school and a middle school since the school year 2026/27. In full operation, it offers space for 650 students on Empa’s campus. In the summer of 2027, another building will be opened in Dübendorf - also for 650 students. In the school year 2027/28 the physics lessons start. For the development phase and the subsequent school operation at our two locations, we are looking for a committed, self-employed personality as a central member of our department of physics as of April or May 2027. Their tasks

• Responsibility for the perfect condition of the entire physics collection (devices and experiments) and inventory
• Support for the establishment of demonstrations and preparation of teaching internships
• Development and construction of new experimental equipment and storage solutions
• Repairs and new acquisitions
• Collaboration in projects and support for mature work
• Co-determination in the procurement and establishment of the subject-specific infrastructure Your profile
• Completed vocational training as a physics laboratory EFZ, a completed technical apprenticeship (e.g. in the fields of electromechanics or electronics) or equivalent qualification, preferred a few years of practice in a similar function
• Broad craftsmanship skills (including basic knowledge of CAD and 3D printing)
• Good knowledge of German (word and writing) and common IT skills in the MS Office area
• Independent, reliable and careful working methods and good organisational skills
• Service-oriented, flexible and capable of teamwork with open and respectful communication
