chevron left Overview chevron left Overview Architect:in or civil engineer:in with focus Sustainability Living Lab HIL (m/w/d) 100%, Zürich, terminated print Print ETH Zurich launches a pioneering research project with direct reference to building practice. The HIL building on the Campus Hönggerberg is transformed into a Living Lab. The construction in need of renovation is rebuilt and expanded. Professorships of the Departments of Architecture (D-ARCH) and Construction, Environment and Geomatics (D-BAUG) will explore and plan the renovation of the HIL building in the sense of circular construction in the coming years. The aim is to further develop sustainable design and construction in the existing structure and to demonstrate by way of example a real planning and construction project. For the development of strategies, evaluations based on methodological approaches and the overarching coordination of sustainability planning in the architecture project, we are looking for from 1. July 2026 or by agreement a dedicated and versatile architect, architect or civil engineer, civil engineer with a focus on sustainability. They work in the interdisciplinary team of the Living Lab HIL and are in close cooperation with various professorships. This will help you to combine and develop innovative approaches from research and practice in sustainable building development. In addition to the development and planning tasks of the Living Lab HIL team, you work with a focus on sustainability topics on the following tasks:

• Development and coordination of sustainability strategies
• Data integration of ecological and energy analyses in the context of the digital building model
• Control and coordination of sustainability goals with interdisciplinary planning teams
• • Integration of innovative research approaches into concrete planning processes
• Development of concepts for climate-conscious construction, material strategies and resource efficiency
• Supporting project development in the entire planning phase
• Creating decision bases, reports and presentations
• Monitoring, evaluation and further development of sustainability objectives
• Profile
• Complete study in architecture (ETH/FH or comparable)
• Professional experience of advantage, ideally in the field of higher education or research
• Knowledge of Swiss building regulations and SIA standards
• Knowledge of certifications and standards
• Self-employed, structured and responsible working
• Communication strength, flexibility and solution-oriented thinking
